What the content is

The work orders, cutting lists, reference tables and drawings on this site are workshop notes published for information and teaching. They describe how we build a specific object with a specific hide, thread and hardware set. Change any of those and the numbers change with them.

Nothing here is professional, medical, legal or safety advice, and nothing here is a warranty that a technique will produce a particular result on your materials.

Working safely is your responsibility

Leatherwork involves very sharp cutting tools, solvent-based adhesives, heavy mauls and presses, and in some cases heat. You are responsible for ventilation, eye and hand protection, and for keeping blades away from your body. If a step in a work order cannot be done safely on your bench, stop and do it differently.

Accuracy and changes

Measurements are taken from finished pieces and checked before publication, but leather varies and errors happen. Corrections are made against the original record with the date of the correction. Dimensions may be updated without notice.

We may add, change or retire work orders, profiles and pages at any time.

Using and quoting the material

You are welcome to use the techniques here in your own work, including work you sell. You may quote short extracts or a single table with a visible credit and a link to the original page.

You may not republish a work order, a cutting layout or a reference table in full, translate and republish it, or feed it into a product that resells our content, without written permission.
